Learn How to Hypnotize Someone

Learning to hypnotize someone is a fairly easy process if you have a good instruction method such as online videos, in-class instruction, tutorial manuals or audio instruction such as CDs or MP3s. You can learn how to hypnotize someone after just a couple days or learning and practice, but if you want to become more professional in your skills, you will want to take more time learning the necessary methods and techniques.

The basics of learning how to hypnotize someone involve evaluating the person to be hypnotized, performing a hypnotic induction to relax the person, and then leading his or her through a guided hypnotic session. You will also bring the person out of hypnosis using proven methods for easing someone back into an awake and conscious state.

The purpose of hypnosis is to allow a person to become completely relaxed and open to listening to suggestions that will improve their lives in a positive way. Hypnotists guide a person through this process. First, a hypnotist will evaluate the person being hypnotized to make sure that they are willing to be hypnotized, are relaxed and comfortable, and actually believe that the hypnosis will work. All these of these factors are very important for being able to successfully hypnotize a person. Once the person is in an initial relaxed state, the hypnotist will person a hypnotic induction to amplify the results of the hypnosis and take the person into an even deeper relaxation. This deep relaxation allows the mind to open up to new visualizations, new outlooks on life, positive affirmations and subconscious thoughts.

Hypnotic inductions can be done in a number of different ways. One way is to use the counting method. In this method, a person being hypnotized will count backwards from 20 to 1. With each passing number, they will become more and more relaxed until they reach 1, the ultimate point of relaxation. A variation of the counting method is counting with imagery, where the hypnotists asks the person to not only count backwards, but also imagine themselves in a relaxing place, such as a garden or a beach.

Another form of hypnotic induction is using pure imagery. This can include suggesting the person being hypnotized imagine his or herself walking down a spiral staircase, watching waves roll in on the shore or any other visual that would provoke a calming sensation. A discussion before hypnosis with the person being hypnotized may reveal what they feel is a very relaxing situation or environment. A hypnotist will use what the person says to create the imagery to guide the person into hypnosis.

Hypnotic induction can also result from touch. A hypnotist may suggest that as they touch the shoulder of the person being hypnotized that that person begins to feel completely relaxed. Then, the hypnotist will touch the other shoulder and suggest that the person being hypnotized now feels more deeply relaxed. A final touch, on the hypnotized person’s forehead, will send the person into a complete deep relaxation that travels throughout their whole body.

Any of these methods can be used to induce hypnosis depending on the person being hypnotized and the hypnotist’s preferences. While some people will respond better to imagery, others will prefer the calming nature of touch. Once the person is under hypnosis, the hypnotist can then guide him or her through a series of mental exercises. These exercises help to connect the hypnotized person with their subconscious.

To bring the person out of hypnosis, you can reverse the induction methods. For example, you can count from 1 to 20 and when you reach 20 suggest that the person be wide-awake. Or, you can tell the hypnotized person to imagine they are climbing up a spiral staircase and to wake up when they reach the top. Different methods and techniques for hypnosis allow the experience to be personalized depending on the person being hypnotized.
